The Netgear forums are full of angry customers. Overall Review: -RMA'd to Netgear support, which meant I had to endure 45 minutes on the phone troubleshooting with a poor girl from "overseas". This has created a whole host of other problems. When connecting to the WPN824, if I am doing any steady stream of download/upload it causes the computer to completely freeze. Even throttling it to standard G speeds causes it to have problems. Crazy!! I've tweaked both the WPN111 and WPN824 to make it work, and it just will not. However, it works relatively decently with my neighbor's Linksys 54g router which is open. Constant connect/disconnects with my WPN824. The device overheats when you attempt to max out the 108mbps data rate. Boy, was I wrong!Ĭons: This thing is a heaping piece of trash. Pros: Seemed like a good idea matching it with a Netgear WPN824. This thing can barely pick it up 10 feet away. The tablet can get our router's signal almost a block and a half away.
#NETGEAR WPN111 WINDOWS 10 DRIVER PC#
The three laptops and tablet pc we have are able to get signal anywhere in this 1 bedroom apartment at full 5 bars. I brought it over to my router using the extension cord and pulled my router as close as I could without having to rewire it: They're about 3 feet apart and I'm still only getting 4 out of 5 bars.

Overall Review: I would seriously consider just about any other usb wifi adapter over this one. It's better than nothing but that isn't saying much. It absolutely cannot hold a connection for more than a couple hours even with 3 bars. Other networks show up and drop off completely randomly minute by minute. It can barely pull signal from a router that is just next door (15 feet away through 2 doors). That happiness was short lived when at first it pulled 2 bars on the router that is less than 10 feet away. Recently I had to bust it out because we're moving and cleaning our apartment up and I was so glad I had one handy for the transition days. Blinking light lets you know it's plugged in, installed itself on win7Ĭons: I've had this thing for a couple of years now and never really used it because I'd always had ethernet.
